A TUI Airways flight (TOM156) made an emergency return to Manchester Airport on Friday, after smoke was seen in the flight deck. The flight crew declared the emergency at 10:47 local time.
Alaska Airlines 1282 blowout is now under criminal investigation
The US Department of Justice has opened a criminal investigation into the Boeing 737 MAX door blowout that occurred on January 5th 2024.
Federal investigators have contacted some passengers and crew involved in the incident to establish facts. The Justice department has also interviewed the heroic pilots that safely landed their damaged aircraft, saving all 177 people on board.
JetBlue and Spirit Airlines terminate merger agreement
US low cost airline carriers JetBlue Airways and Spirit Airlines were set to merge last month, until a US judge blocked the deal on anti competition concerns. Now the deal is dead, with JetBlue and Spirit parting ways for good. Both airlines announced on Monday the 4th March that they have terminated their merger agreement, just weeks after the judge ruled against it. The deal was worth $3.8bn.
