FAA formally opens investigation into Boeing and their safety processes

The US airline authority, the FAA, have formally opened an investigation into Boeing's processes, after the Alaska Airlines 1282 incident.

It comes after a consistent set of problems with Boeing's newest aircraft, the 737 MAX. Some speculators have noted that these issues come from a culture at Boeing, putting money above safety.

The FAA has commented: "This incident [Alaska 1282] should never have happened and it cannot happen again. Boeing's manufacturing practices need to comply with the high safety standards they're legally accountable to meet."

Boeing has said in response that it would cooperate fully and transparently with the investigation.
