737 MAX cleared and returned to flight - just as FAA blocks further production

The 737 MAX has officially returned to service, after being cleared by regulators and deemed as safe.

This news comes at the same time the FAA has prohibited further expansion of production of Boeing's best selling aircraft, citing concerns over their quality control procedures.

Boeing took a day off from production earlier this week, preventing all staff from working on aircraft, in order to concentrate on quality control.

Boeing shares are down by 16% since the Alaska Airlines incident. Boeing are expected to release their quarterly earnings report at the end of this month. The US senate transport committee will hold hearings to determine "the root causes" of Boeing's safety lapses.

Not a great start to the year for Boeing - maybe this is the eye opener they need to improve their aircraft? Let us know what you think in the comments.
