Rolls Royce wins order for Trent engines, to power new Airbus aircraft order

Rolls Royce today have announced that they have won an order for Trent 7000 & Trent XWB-97 engines from STARLUX Airlines, a Taiwanese airline. STARLUX have ordered three Airbus A330neo aircraft, and five A350F aircraft, demonstrating STARLUX’s aspirations to grow. The Trent 7000/XWB-97s are the exclusive engines for the respective aircraft. 

The Chief Customer Officer for Royce’s Civil Aerospace division said on Wednesday:

“We welcome this order for further Trent 7000 and Trent XWB-97 engines, and thank STARLUX for its continued confidence in the power of our Trent engines. We are proud to continue supporting the expansion of STARLUX, including its new freighter operations, and look forward to supporting these new aircraft as they enter into service.”

Rolls Royce have continuously been striving for efficiency, and their close partnership with Airbus allows them to reach new limits never seen before. The A330neo/Trent 7000 combinations delivers a 14% better fuel burn per seat whilst lowering emissions. This level of reduction of emissions allows STARLUX to avoid more than 100,000 tons of CO2 over the lifetime of each aircraft.

Both the Trent 7000 and Trent XWB are certified to operate on a 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel blend for today, and proven to be compatible with 100% SAF for the future.
