Alaska Airlines grounds all 737 MAX’s after mid flight window blowout

BREAKING NEWS - Alaska Airlines grounds ALL 65 737 MAX's, yet another blow to the Boeing 737 MAX.

An Alaska Airlines flight yesterday evening (05/01/2024) reached 16,000ft when part of the 737 MAX-9 fuselage ripped out violently midflight, rapidly depressurising the cabin. The flight departed from Portland, Oregon and was scheduled to land in Ontario, California.

An emergency descent and landing was made back in Portland after a mayday call. All 177 passengers and crew are safe.

Alaska have temporarily grounded their fleet of 737 MAX's until inspections can be made. The NTSB are investigating, with the UK CAA monitoring the situation very closely. The crew have been praised for their professional conduct to bring this aircraft down safely.

This marks yet another issue with the 737 MAX. What are your thoughts on this incident? A one off, or a result of rushed aircraft deliveries? Let us know in the comments.
