Five destinations for a spontaneous getaway

With all the ice, snow and cold weather around at the moment, a holiday may just be what you need. Stockholm is our favourite, but the Algarve is definitely on our list. The prices for these holidays are all for 3 nights, in March with breakfast included. Read on for the details!

1. Basel - Switzerland (£228pp)

Basel in Switzerland is an often overlooked destination. It’s best for those looking for culture, with it being Switzerland’s oldest university city. Flight times from 1hr 45m, it’s easy enough to get there. Historic landmarks of the city include the large market square and the late Romanesque-Gothic cathedral.

2. Prague - Czech Republic (£189pp)

Prague is an obvious one but that’s because it has so much to see all year round. Pargue really is an incredbile, historic city that you can see at a great price. Flight times from 2hrs, it’s another easy one. Romanesque chapels and cellars, Gothic cathedrals, Baroque palaces and gardens, are just some of the things that make it a place with no parallel in the world.

3. Stockholm - Sweden (£203pp)

Stockholm is at the heart of Sweden, and although it can get a little chilly in the winter months, the locals always make you feel incredibly warm. Flight times to Stockholm from London are about 2hr 30m but it’s definitely worth a bit of a longer flight. An open city for different perspectives and new ideas, and a vibrant destination where innovations in music, design, fashion and technology are born.

4. Mallorca - Spain (£198pp)

Mallorca, the largest Balearic island, is known for its stunning landscapes and pristine beaches. The best part? It’s only a stones throw away, with a flight time of 2hr 20m. Perfect for a bit of sun in the winter. Mallorca has a sunny personality thanks to its ravishing beaches, azure views, remote mountains and soulful hill towns.

5. Algarve - Portugal (£189pp)

Calling golfers and surfers, this one is for you. The Algarve is the place to go if you’re looking to catch some rays, swing a few holes and surf them waves. Flight times from 2hr 50m. It is a region blessed with glorious sandy beaches, picturesque fishing towns and a glorious climate.
